This Rock-Paper-Scissors Match Through A Plane Window Is Just The Best

Published

on

One of the biggest criticisms of the smart technology we’re surrounded by is that because of our phones and the internet, we no longer make meaningful connections with people. This notion and other claims like it are so prolific because they’re peddled by Boomers and Gen Xers… who yell about it on the internet, via their phones. Anyway, this criticism isn’t entirely fair, because the vast majority of the time that we spend on our phones revolves around exactly that: Connecting with people. If you think about it, social media and smart technology have actually taught us new ways to communicate with others through things like bite sized videos, gifs, memes, and even shitty game apps. Language barriers and distance don’t hinder us to the same extent they used to, and that’s pretty cool.

Now, I’m not saying that spending too much time on our phones isn’t a problem; it is, and we could all use some more real life human interaction. However, I also believe that thanks in part to social media and the communication methods we’ve learned from using it, however small or niche they might seem, we’ve become a little less socially guarded and able to actually make more meaningful connections with people. Which, again, is pretty cool.

And when you combine our ability and willingness to have brief, whimsical interactions with strangers and apply it to the real world, some pretty fun things happen.

Say, for instance, playing a quick game of rock-paper-scissors through an airplane window.

While waiting to take off from Atlantic City, Twitter user Robert Meadows decided to kill some time by challenging a tarmac worker to a game of rock-paper-scissors, and the whole thing was captured by his girlfriend, Brianna Kolbe.

As if this wasn’t heart-wrenchingly wholesome enough already, Robert and Brianna learned that the name of his opponent on the ground was Allain Bantaya — thanks to the quick work of the internet. They even discovered they had mutual friends, and are now planning a rematch.

The video of their match went viral almost instantly, and it didn’t take long for people to share other similar and hilarious stranger-standoffs.

Ryan Reynolds & Daughter James Go On Lunch Date In NYC — See Pics – Hollywood Life

Ryan Reynolds spent a sweet afternoon in NYC with his daughter, James. He and the 5-year-old beauty were on a lunch date on Jan. 26, and the picture couldn’t be any cuter.

What a doting dad! On Sunday, Jan. 26, Ryan Reynolds, 43, spent some quality time with his eldest daughter James, 5, during an afternoon outing in Manhattan. The Deadpool actor walked the streets with his daughter on his shoulders, working his muscles and pulling at our heartstrings. He looked ready to battle the freezing temps in his blue puffer jacket with a matching baseball hat and crisp white Converse sneakers. The actor topped off his look with thick black-framed glasses. What a sweet pair!

James looked especially adorable riding on her dad’s shoulders in a kid version of her dad’s jacket. She also wore a pair of mint green rain boots and kept warm with a cute white cat beanie, complete with tiny knit ears. The duo looked like they were enjoying the sunny afternoon, but a few people were noticeably missing from the scene. Ryan’s wife Blake Lively, 32, his second daughter Inez, 3, and their newborn baby girl, whose name is still a secret, were nowhere to be seen.

Blake and Ryan, like they did with their other daughters, have kept the details of their third daughter under wraps. But they did bring the little one out with them on a breakfast date in New York City on Jan. 10. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress wore a green winter jacket and black leggings as she held their baby girl close to her chest. She used a blanket to completely cover the little one, so paparazzi were unable to get a photo of her.

The closest they came was in one fuzzy pic when they were inside, and the blanket came off. But Blake kept baby Reynolds underneath her coat with just the top of her head, including her eyes, nose and white, green, and yellow hat visible.

Blake didn’t reveal her third pregnancy until she was in the middle of her second trimester. She debuted her baby bump in a yellow dress when walking the red carpet at the premiere of Ryan’s animated film Detective Pikachu on May 2, 2019. She reportedly gave birth over the summer, but the news wasn’t reported until early October 2019.
