Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg Apologizes For ‘Stop-and-Frisk’ Policy-Mayor Bill de Blasio Responds To His Apology

Sunday morning former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg attended the church service at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, NY. While speaking to the audience he apologized for the stop-and-frisk policy he introduced during his time in office.

According to the New York Daily News, he said, “I now see that we could and should have acted sooner, and acted faster, to cut the stops. I wish we had and I’m sorry that we didn’t but I can’t change history. However, today I want you to know that I realize back then that I was wrong and I’m sorry.”

His apology comes after he has already been taking the steps to enter the Democratic presidential primary. Nonetheless, Bill de Blasio, the current mayor of New York City was not here for his apology and said, “This is LONG overdue and the timing is transparent and cynical. With all due respect to my predecessor, we’ve spent six years undoing the damage he created with this bankrupt policy. We ended stop and frisk AND drove down crime. Actions speak louder than words.”

For those who are not familiar with the “Stop-and-Frisk” policy, the policy was practiced by the New York City police department where they would stop civilians and search them for contraband, often leading to them being temporarily detained for questioning. Minorities were usually the ones that were affected by this policy.

According to the New York Post, Patrick Lynch, the president of the Police Benevolent Association said, “Mayor Bloomberg could have saved himself this apology if he had just listened to the police officers on the street. We said in the early 2000s that the quota-driven emphasis on street stops was polluting the relationship between cops and our communities.”

He continued, “His administration’s misguided policy inspired an anti-police movement that has made cops the target of hatred and violence, and stripped away many of the tools we had used to keep New Yorkers safe.”

Roommates, what are your thoughts?

Eva Marcille Body Bounces Back After Baby – Hollywood Life

‘RHOA’ star Eva Marcille is looking as fabulous as ever after welcoming her newest bundle of joy into the world just a few short weeks ago.

Eva Marcille, 35, has always looked fabulous when we see her on The Real Housewives Of Atlanta. This season captured the current mom of three fully pregnant with her son Maverick, 5 weeks, and now that he’s here, she can’t wait to get back in the gym after gaining the pregnancy pounds. “I think in the end it was like 40 something [pounds],” Eva told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY at the first annual BravoCon in New York City. “First day of BravoCon started my five weeks and it takes six weeks before you even go back to the doctor or workout or do anything. So I go see [Married To Medicine’s] Dr. Jackie [Walters], my doctor. Hopefully she clears me to workout.”

Delivering a baby isn’t easy for anyone, let alone when you have two other littles ones to look after. So it makes perfect sense as to why Eva knows how hard her body has been working and is proud to have gone through it all. “I mean, hey, it was a whole baby,” Eva joked about the weight she gained. “We are and however you do it, if it’s a C-section if is natural. I had an epidural for sure.”

There has already been so much drama when it comes to this season between Eva and co-star Kenya Moore, 48, and the season has only just begun. Though most of the filming for season 12 is wrapped, there is one very important filming date Eva has her sights on to debut her official post baby body look. “I think I’ll like really start concentrating on it like before my reunion,” Eva admitted. “So that I can slay with like a proper side-eye and snatchedness, yes.”

Kanye West has announced his first-ever opera, Nebuchadnezzar. West took to Twitter earlier today to post artwork of a golden program featuring an engraving of the titular Babylonian king. The opera is directed by Italian performance artist Vanessa Beecroft and will take place at the Hollywood Bowl on November 24. The event will also feature music by Kanye’s Sunday Service performers, Peter Colins, and Infinite Song. Tickets for the opera go on sale Monday (November 18). Find the Nebuchadnezzar artwork (designed by Nick Knight) below.

Last month, before the release of his most recent LP Jesus Is King, Kanye joined Zane Lowe for an interview on Apple Music’s Beats 1. During their chat, Kanye mentioned Nebuchadnezzar while speaking of his Yeezus tour. “[God] is saying, Let me take this Nebuchadnezzar-type character—Nebuchadnezzar was the king of Babylon, and he looked at his entire kingdom and said, I did this,” West said, adding, “I stood on the top of the mountain talking about Yeezus, saying, ‘I’m a God’—I had a guy dressed as Jesus.”
