Easy Outfit Idea: White Pants and a Sweater

Published

on

White pants for Fall may not seem like an obvious choice what with the whole “no white after Labor Day” thing, which to me, is total bogus. I mean come on, have you ever heard of Winter whites?! Yes, we’re all about jeans and casual pants like corduroys this time of year, not to mention our eagerness to don heavier fabrics like leather or tweed. But white pants are not to be ignored. In fact, they’re the perfect bottom when the weather is still a bit warm and/or oscilating between Summer and Winter. The key to making white pants feel right in Autumn is the pieces you still with them and an obvious top contender is, of course, the sweater. And one of our new favorite styles is this affordable POPSUGAR Long Sleeve Boxy Sweater ($37, originally $50).

More playful than a simple black sweater but not overly bold, this striped crewneck is cut from a mid-weight fabric that’s super tuckable and ultracomfy when the temperature is mild. When paired with a white trouser like the high-rise paperbag-waist silhouette our Content Director of Fashion and Shop Hannah Weil McKinley chose during New York Fashion Week, it’s clear that white pants not only fly for Fall, but feel superfresh alongside fun knits and sleek acessories.

Ahead, shop the pieces you need to relicate Hannah’s white pant outfit for Fall. Then, be sure to check back as we continue to bring you more easy Fall outfit formulas, from stylish slip skirt outfits to polished trends you can wear to work and cute looks that center on boots.

21 V-Neck Sweaters That Will Renew Your Faith in the V-Neck Sweater

Published

By

The humble V-neck sweater had a rough go last decade. Thanks to the countless crimes against humanity perpetrated by its distant relative the deep-V tee in the mid-to-late aughts, the one-time knitwear icon was forced into hiding, ceding valuable ground to its crew and turtlenecked rivals. Over the last couple years, though—like a phoenix rising from the ashes, or a McConaughey rising from The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past—the V-neck sweater has launched an all-out charm offensive in a dogged effort to clear its name. And boy, has it worked. Designers are just plain having fun with V-necks again: they’re exaggerating the necklines, experimenting with materials and textures, playing with colors and pattern. Now it’s time for you to have fun with ‘em, too. Grab one of these luxed-up takes from mega-retailer Farfetch, and then rock it a dozen different ways all spring: tucked into your slouchiest trousers, tossed on thoughtlessly with a tee and jeans, or anchoring a suited-up look over a crisp shirt and tie.

Beyoncé and JAY-Z do not slow down on Grammys weekend, and of course they dress to impress at every event. After the power couple attended Roc Nation’s annual pre-Grammys brunch, they hit up Clive Davis’s gala and received a standing ovation. I would cheer too if I got the chance to applaud Beyoncé’s outfit choice.

The 38-year-old singer wore a glamorous Valdrin Sahiti gown for the star-studded evening and totally stole the show with its jaw-dropping scarlet shade and steamy cut. Beyoncé’s dress showed off a dramatic train and a risky hip-high slit — a theme among Queen Bey’s recent gowns. She completed the look with pointed heels, a sparkling clutch, plus glittering ear crawlers and earrings. Catch more glimpses of Beyoncé’s elegant ensemble ahead.
